Reconstructive surgery of the nose

Reconstruction of the nose after an injury. The surgery included the following phases:

  1. Nasal septum correction;
  2. Nasal septum plastic surgery with repositioning;
  3. Osteotomy of nasal bones with restoration of the shape of the nasal dorsum;
  4. Stabilization of the tip of the nose.

External nose reconstruction

The nose was bitten off by a dog at the age of 3.

The reconstruction included the following phases:

  1. Microsurgical reconstruction of external nose;
  2. Super-microsurgical auto-transplantation of reversed pre-auricular revascularized multicomponent flap;
  3. The vessels were connected using the access through the mouth

At the moment of this surgery, based on literature data, there only 30 surgeries were performed using this technology worldwide and none of them were performed in Russia.

Nasal reconstruction with a forehead flap

This reconstruction was performed in 3 phases over 2 months.

At present, the patient is undertaking the course of hair depilation from the flap.

Reconstruction of the nose after trauma in a male patient

Correction of posttraumatic panfacial deformity and disfiguration of the external and internal nose using the patient’s own tissues.

  1. Correction of the shape and position of nasal septum with its redressing and stabilization;
  2. Osteotomy of nasal bones;
  3. Placement of spreader grafts to improve nasal breathing;
  4. Forming wing cartilages and a nasal tip;
  5. Nasal tip stabilization;
  6. Augmentation of nasal dorsum with the transplant taken from the patient’s own tissues (Turkish delight rhinoplasty)

Nasal repair after injury

Correction of posttraumatic deformity of external and internal nose using the patient’s own tissues.

  1. Correction of the shape and position of nasal septum;
  2. Osteotomy of nasal bones;
  3. Placement of spreader grafts to improve nasal breathing;
  4. Forming wing cartilages and a nasal tip;
  5. Nasal tip stabilization;
  6. Turkish delight rhinoplasty technique: augmentation of nasal dorsum with the transplant taken from the patient’s own tissues.

Repair of broken nose in a female patient

Reconstruction of nasal shape and restoration of external nasal breathing after injury. The surgery included:

  1. Correction of the shape of nasal septum and its stabilization;
  2. Osteotomy of nasal bones;
  3. Placement of spreader grafts to improve nasal breathing;
  4. Forming wing cartilages and a nasal tip;
  5. Nasal tip stabilization;
  6. Augmentation of nasal dorsum with the transplant taken from the patient’s own tissues.

Repeated nasal reconstruction after injury

The operation for combined posttraumatic and post-surgery deformity of the external and internal nose.

In this reconstruction, the patient’s own tissues were used. The surgery included:

  1. Reconstruction of nasal septum and its stabilization;
  2. Osteotomy of nasal bones;
  3. Reducing the width of the nasal dorsum:
  4. Placement of spreader grafts;
  5. Forming wing cartilages and a nasal tip;
  6. Rotation of the nasal tip and its stabilization;
  7. Augmentation of nasal dorsum with the transplant taken from the patient’s own tissues.

The initial plastic surgery was performed in another clinic.

Posttraumatic nasal reconstruction with preservation of ethnic authenticity

The surgery was focused not only on repairing the shape and functions of external and internal nose, but also on preserving the patient’s ethnic features.

The plastic surgery included:

  1. Reconstruction of the nasal septum with its stabilization;
  2. Osteotomy of nasal bones;
  3. Reducing the width of the nasal dorsum:
  4. Placement of spreader grafts;
  5. Forming wing cartilages and a nasal tip;
  6. Rotation of the nasal tip with its stabilization;
  7. Augmentation of nasal dorsum with the transplant taken from the patient’s own tissues.

Reconstruction of the nose after a fracture

The surgery was focused on repairing the broken nose disfiguration. The reconstruction included the following phases:

  1. Reconstruction of nasal septum with its stabilization;
  2. Osteotomy of nasal bones;
  3. Reducing the width of the nasal dorsum:

  5. Forming wing cartilages and a nasal tip;
